Don't they deserve it??

A few months ago, I ran my first marathon (St. Jude Memphis Marathon).  Yes, that's right...the full 26.2 miles.  The weather was fabulous for this run.  It was a chilly morning, but 10 minutes into the run, I was no longer cold.  I was feeling great through most of the race.  Even though at about mile 20, my body was beginning to shut down on me, I had a goal - to make it to that finish line - and I was determined to keep it.

WHY??  Because I care for those kids of St. Jude and I was running this race for them!!!

I live in the outskirts of Memphis, so St. Jude is only about a 30 minute car ride from my driveway.  I have always been fond of St. Jude, but this past year, I made the ultimate decision to do what I could to save as many lives as I could.  And I did that by becoming a "Hero".  A Hero is someone that raises funds to help support the life saving efforts of St. Jude!!  Although the decision to run the marathon was a tough one (an ultimately tough on my body), the decision to raise money for these kids was one that I was more than willing to do.  And in the end, I surpassed my $750 goal by $301, making for a total of $1051 raised.  How excited was I to know that I helped raise enough money to pay for a day of chemotherapy for a leukemia patient.  I was STOKED!!!

So, once again, I have signed up to be a Hero, but this time I will be participating in:

It will take place April 21, 2012 in Jackson, MS.  It is a 5k, but it will also include a military style muddy obstacle course throughout the 3.1 miles.  My goal with this race is $250.  So, I'm asking....actually I'm begging, for you to dig deep into your pockets and make a donation to St. Jude through my web page: www.mystjudeevent.org/natkinson.  This would mean so much to me!!

Did you know?

  • $50 could help provide infant care supplies for 10 babies.
  • $70 could help provide a wagon for patients to travel the halls of St. Jude.
  • $100 could help provide toys to fill play areas.
  • $250 could help provide two chest X-rays.
  • $500 could help provide domestic airfare for a member of the St. Jude family.
  • $1,000 could help provide one day of chemotherapy for a leukemia patient.
  • $5,000 could help provide an above-knee prosthesis.
Don't these kids deserve it?  I thank God everyday for my healthy daughter.  I can only imagine what the parents and kids of St. Jude go through every single day!!  Please help give these kids a chance at life cancer FREE!!!

Tootles!!!
